WASHINGTON  - It was home sweet home for the Wizards tonight as they defeated the Sizers 123-106 to avenge Tuesday night’s loss in Philly. These two teams traveled south roughly 130 miles in less than 24 hours to play their second game against each other in two nights. The Wizards remained dominate over the Sixers while playing in DC and improved making it nine straight wins over the Sixers in DC. The Wizards also improved to 5-2 on the second night of back-to-backs this season.

With this being the second night of a back to back both teams seemed to be a bit fatigued from last night as the first quarter started with sloppy play. There were 15 combined turnovers in the opening quarter.

The Wizards were able to regroup and take a commanding lead in the second quarter. The Wizards opened up a 21-point lead after a 16-2 to start the second quarter. They shot the lights out in the 2nd going 52% from the field and 70% for 3 pointers.

The Wizards were led by Bradley Beal who seemingly was everywhere on the floor tonight. Beal had a monster night and finished with 34 points going 62% from the field. After missing Tuesday’s game Otto Porter’s heavily contributed to the Wizardswin. Porter finished with 23 points including 11 points in the pivotal second quarter. The Wizards received 51 bench points from their reserves which was a huge boost for the team.

The Sixers big-3 had a commendable game as Embiid, Butler, and Simmons finished with 35, 23, and 15 respectively. Despite their success the Sixers bench was outscored 51-12. This loss is certainly a disappointment for the Sixers as the Wizards are missing key players John Wall and Markieff Morris.

Following Tuesday’s loss Bradley Beal stated "We have to be a lot better (Wednesday)," Beal "We have to make sure the message is sent and that we continue to take each game and try to win as best we can."

The Wizards definitely improved shooting as they went 54% from the field and 48% from the 3-point line (13 for 27). On the other hand, Philly struggled shooting only going 43% from the field and a disappointing 29.6% (8 for 26) from 3.

Landry Shamet on Whether He Should Be Considered Rookie of the Year

Coming off a career night on Tuesday scoring 29 points including eight 3 pointers 76ers rookie Landry Shamet only had 5 points in tonight’s loss. Prior to tonight’s game CulturaNBA caught up with Shamet to discuss his career night on Tuesday
