Washington D.C. - The 2024 season looks to start out with great matchups and exciting storylines that will be sure to capture plenty of attention. With fans already guessing their team’s winning record, and unrealistically announcing a 17-0 finish, we take a closer look at the 2024 NFL Season Schedule.
Opening Week:
The 2024 season will kick things off with the defending Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens for Thursday Night Football, (TNF), on September 5, 2024. For week 1 of the season fans will be greeted with several great matchups and rivalries, including:
• The Pittsburg Steelers visit the Atlanta Falcons with each team debuting their newly acquired QBs having Russel Wilson going against Kirk Cousins.
• The Dallas Cowboys will open their season by visiting the Cleveland Browns; a game that will see the broadcasting booth debut of legendary quarterback, Tom Brady.
• The first primetime Sunday night game (SNF) will be led by the LA Rams visiting the Detroit Lions.
• Week 1 will be concluded with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets’ second try at a consecutive opening Monday Night Football, (MNF), against the tough defense of the Super Bowl 58 runner up, the San Francisco 49ers. Last year Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury after just four plays in the same first MNF of the season.
Primetime Games:
The Jets, the Cowboys, and the 49ers will have the most primetime games for the upcoming season, with each team having a total of six. This year almost half of the League’s teams will have four to five primetime games, with nine of them having one to two primetime games throughout the season. The Panthers will be the only team with zero primetime games. Here’s the roundup of teams with primetime games for the 2024 season:
